Metropolitan police presents awards
The ceremony, at which the Metropolitan Police of the City of Prague
rewarded above-standard cooperation and work over the long-term, was held in
Prague Zbraslav on Tuesday 26 March.
Medal of the District Directorate of the Metropolitan Police for Prague 5
“For Level III Merit” was awarded to mayor of Radotín Karel Hanzlík for
long-term and effective cooperation and for dealing with crisis situations and
extraordinary events to concern the people of Radotín. Special mention was made
during the ceremony of his human approach to dealing with the extraordinary
events that accompanied anti-flood measures in 2013, which was an example to
all others. Personal involvement in dealing with the deployment of the precinct
station of the Metropolitan Police in Radotín and the personal approach taken
to officers of the district directorate, bearing the hallmarks of understanding
and helpfulness, were also praised.
A medal was also awarded to František
Drož, a former professional fireman and now long-term commanding officer of
the Volunteer Fire Rescue Service in Radotín, and David Janda, the experienced commanding officer of the detached
branch of the Metropolitan Police of the City of Prague in Radotín.
“We consider the approach to dealing with crisis scenarios and safety risks that
has been recognised to be a matter of course and will continue to work in this
way in the future. We are all aware that without the coaction and cooperation
of self-government and law enforcement units it would simply not work. Our goal
is a common one,” said mayorKarel
Hanzlík in acknowledgement.
Two women were also presented with awards: officer Eva Petráková, who has worked for the Metropolitan Police for
25 years now, and Libuše Krejčová,
Head of the Department of Administrative Affairs at the Office of the City
District of Prague – Zbraslav, who is also the secretary of the Zbraslav administrative
offences committee and works closely with officers from the Metropolitan Police
of the City of Prague.
The medal for merit was awarded this year for the second time. Stanislav
Fresl, then the mayor of the City District of Prague – Velká Chuchle, npor.
